Automatically in the family calendar

In JH FamilySync, the holidays go into the family calendar automatically, for everyone in the family and every year, as soon as our data source lists them. When you set up the family, the app asks for your region straight away. It is free. In the app, holidays currently appear with their German names (for example “Herbstferien”).

1. Open Settings

   On the phone via your profile picture at the top left, on the computer in the sidebar.

2. Calendar → School holidays

   Under Choose country & region, tap your region.

3. Apply school holidays

   The holidays then appear in the calendar. You can tap any of them to edit or delete it.

4. Public holidays too

   Under Public holidays, choose your region and tap Apply region.

School holidays are set by the cantons and their municipalities. The EDK (Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education) publishes an official overview of all cantons, in German and French.
